In 2010, with no furniture retail experience, Darren Ausmus and Scott Elias, took a giant leap of faith and quit their successful careers in public education to purchase and operate Luxe Home Interiors.  Just following the global financial crisis of 2008 many critics had doubts the two novices could steer the company through the shaky economic times.  However, after winning the 2012 Victoria Chamber of Commerce business of the year award Darren, Scott and team reassured the public that Luxe Home Interiors will be around for many years to come.

When planning to buy Luxe Home Interiors in 2010 Darren and Scott were asked one question many times … “what makes you think you can run a furniture store?”  Their answer … “When working with the hardest to reach children and working with staff teams we knew that forming strong relationships is key to any successful organization.    We already know how to work with people, the rest we can learn.”    The best part of our day is developing a strong connection with a client and making someone smile.

With backgrounds as special education teachers making a difference and giving back to the community has always been important to Darren and Scott.   Since 2010 Luxe has supported numerous charities and organizations throughout Victoria raising thousands of dollars and enriching the lives of others.  Additionally, Luxe partners with several local craftsmen and artisans to further strengthen the local economy.
